eQuizzer dates to the spring of 1998. During a Penn State graduate education course, my wife and I were given a task to create a Web Quest. Our final product included a quizzing mechanism (was a Harry Potter Web Quest). Student's were required to score 10 out of 10 to progress to their next task. There was only one type of question: fill in the blank.
During our drive to and from class, we brainstormed on other uses this project could transform into. My wife needed a quick method to test student's skill level. eQuizzer was born.
The first version was written in Perl with flat database structure. It was only available to my wife's students.
Word got out in her building and all student's had access to it. Two years later it went public. This year I've attempted to integrate it into a Joomla framework. In the future, I hope to have mobile applications (iPhone, Google, etc).
I continue to improve the use for students and educators. Please remember that this is a work in progress (and FREE). :-)
